Hunting Season Has Begun
Today is August 14th, 2018, and my hunting season has officially begun. This will post as I venture upon the mountains of Arizona in search for a southwest black bear. This will be my first ever black bear hunt, but I have prepared for this hunt more than any hunt ever before.
My plan is to glass and call, glass and call, glass and call, from sunrise to sunset. I’ll be carrying a Remington 700 30-06, fit with a Remington 150gn Core Lokt bullet. Upon the firearm is a Vortex 3-9x40 Crossfire scope. We will be using a mixture of hand calls and a Lucky Duck Revolt for calling, and more Vortex optics for glassing.
Wish me luck, but hopefully I won’t need it. I’m hoping to come home Thursday with a big bruin to fill the freezer. I’ll see y’all Thursday…
In the meantime, here’s an old picture of my adorable golden retriever.
